We can trace our genealogy back to the initial founder PIERRE ARSENAULT who was born in France about 1646 and came to Nova Scotia about 1671. He became a coastal pilot. Pierre was co-founder of the colony Bourgeois which became Beaubassin, Acadia; today known as Amherst, Nova Scotia. He resided there from 1687 till his death about 1714. Pierre married twice, first to Marguerite Dugas about 1675. After the death of his first wife Marguerite he married Marie GUERIN; about 1685; she died on 25 April 1723 in Beaubassin , Acadia . Note :

We are the descendants of Etienne ( Stephen ) Arsenault's marriage to Victoire Petitpas his first wife, she was the daughter of Nicolas Petitpas and Apolline Vautour.
